Looking for a fun way to keep students playing and sight-reading right through to the end of the year?
The 12 Keys of Christmas Encore presents three well-known Christmas tunes in 12 different keys, turning familiar melodies into an engaging musical challenge.
Following on from the popular 12 Keys of Christmas Challenge, this new collection is a little more difficult, with a wider pitch range to extend students further.
Use it for:
sight-reading practice
individual or group lessons
quick lesson starters
end-of-year activities
Christmas concert fun
One teacher who used the original challenge began each lesson with a little “Christmas Challenge”. Her students enjoyed it so much that she sometimes had to limit how many keys they could attempt! For their end-of-year concert, each student was randomly assigned a key, creating a fun finale with everyone performing together.
It’s a festive way to develop sight-reading, key recognition and confidence, while helping to keep students motivated during those final weeks of the year.
